My First Try at Making a Map! Exciting!
Embedded below is a map of the different squirrels sighted in New York City’s Central Park. This map was made through ArcGIS using an augmented set of Katherine Walden’s squirrel census data provided by Professor Austin Mason. The three different squirrel icons represent the squirrels’ different fur colors of black, cinnamon, and gray with a pink “NA” icon representing squirrels that did not have recorded fur colors. Clicking on an icon displays additional information about the squirrel and its location such as longitude, age, and sounds.
